It’s interesting what brings inspiration. Sometimes it’s an object or a song. Sometimes, it’s something you want to write about. Other times, it’s someone you want to write for. It can be fleeting, disappearing when you want it most and sneaking up behind you when you when you least expect it.
I’ve abandoned the fairy tales - my inspiration for those left me back in January and I haven’t had interest in working on them since. Maybe someday I’ll pick them up again. Or if not, I’ll publish the ones I have as a series on my website. For now, they’re tucked away, lost with my thoughts in the darkest corner of my imagination.
That project may have stalled, but the writing hasn’t. Norman is still in the works, first draft almost done.
I’ve started something new, possibly a novel. I found inspiration in my own job at the library. My main character is also a librarian - he’s quiet and shy and about to find himself in a heap of trouble!
Now, if I can just harness that inspiration monster...
